War Memorial in a School.

St Joseph’s Boys High School, Bangalore, established in 1858, is one of the oldest schools established by the British in India. Indian students were admitted to the elite school only after independence.
The St Joseph’s College was also established in later years.
The School has a unique war memorial erected in honour of its alumni who laid down their lives in World War I and WW II.
The inscription reads:
” Greater Love Than This No Man Hath,
That A Man Lay Down His Life For His Friends”.
A plaque has since been erected in honour of the alumni who sacrificed their lives in the Wars since independence.
