Alexander the Great.

July is the birth anniversary of Alexander the Great (336-323 B.C.), King of Macedonia, considered to be the greatest military leader in history.

His empire extended from Gibraltar in the Mediterranean to Punjab in India.
He died at the young age of 33 in Babylon.

His death is still shrouded in mystery.
The story goes that he realised that death was coming and that he would not be able to return to his homeland in time.
Alexander told his officers: “I am about to leave this world. I have three wishes. Do what I say.

“1. Let the best healers carry my coffin.
2. Spread my possessions, including all money, gold, diamonds, gems on the way to the cemetery.
3. Let my hands hang loose and leave them out for all to see”.

One of his generals was so surprised by these unusual requests that he asked Alexander for an explanation.

“I want the best healers to carry my coffin to prove that, in the face of death, even the best healers in the world don’t have the power to bring death back to life.

I want to spread all the gold coins on the road to let everyone know that, if you have wealth on this Earth, wealth will have to stay on Earth.

I want my hands to swing in the wind, to make people understand that, as we came into this world with empty hands, we also leave this world with empty hands”.
