Assyrian Sculptures.
The sculptors in Mesopotamia, especially in the Assyrian era ( 21st century BC to 7th century BC), were distinguished by high craftsmanship and accuracy in carving to show the smallest details.
In this picture of a hand holding a bag, we can see the chamomile flower bracelet, with amazing details and measurements!
And the nails trimmed with great care, which indicates the interest of the Assyrians in their appearance and grooming.
Interestingly, it depicts the movement of the hand muscles contraction while holding the bucket and how the fingers close on themselves!
The sculptors engraved writings with cuneiform letters and symbols at a certain level of the mural, making the writing part of the scene explaining it, without affecting the aesthetics of the sculpture!
The mural is currently in the British Museum.
