Helen Keller.
June 27 is the birth anniversary of Helen Keller (1880-1968).
If there is any one biography that should be made compulsory reading for high school students, it should be the story of this courageous woman, who conquered blindness and deafness with sheer willpower, determination, and courage.
She showed the world that people with disabilities should not – and would not – be pushed aside.
Helen Keller enabled generations of people who faced similar challenges, to excel beyond their wildest dreams.
The story of Helen Keller will not be complete without her teacher Anne Sullivan, who devoted her whole life to introduce the little girl into the world of letters.
