Appollo and Daphne.
The ancient Roman Gods Appollo and Venus are the topics of many folklore.
One of the stories is about the infructuous love between Apollo and Daphne .
Daphne was Appollo’s first love. But angered by a taunt by Appollo , Eros (Cupid) shot two arrows.
The golden one that pierced Apollo would inflame his love for Daphne while the one which struck Daphne would repel the love.
Appollo is determined to make Daphne his own.
As soon as Apollo is able to lay his hand on Daphne, she prays to the Earth and she turns into a laurel tree.
