Eienstein and Bhabha.
The accompanying photo is a rare snapshot from 1954. It captures four of the greatest minds in theoretical physics – Albert Einstein, Hideki Yukawa, John Wheeler, and Homi Bhabha, engaged in discussion.
This iconic incident took place in Marquand Park, Princeton, New Jersey, USA.
Every Indian can be proud that the country could produce a physicist of the calibre of Homi Bhabha who could rub shoulders with the likes of the great Albert Einstein.
Prime Minister Nehru had the sagacity to recognise the greatness of Bhabha and put him in charge of developing India’s nuclear program as well as the Space program.
Today India can be proud that it is among the select countries which has acquired both nuclear capabilities as well as ballistic and space exploration capacities, thanks to the pioneering work of Homi Bhabha and colleagues.
