31 October is the birth anniversary of Col.C K Nayudu ( 1895-1967).
The legendary cricketer was the first Captain of the Indian National Cricket team in 1932.
The legendary cricketer who excelled both in batting and bowling has a world record first class career of 47 years, from 1916 to 1963.
In 1923, the Maharaja of Holkar State ( Indore) appointed him a Colonel in the State Army.
C K Naidu is the founder president of the Andhra Cricket Association. He also served as Vice President of the BCCI and as Chairman of the National Selection Committee.
Col C K Nayudu is considered the first celebrity of cricket. He is the first cricketer to be awarded the Padma Bhushan award.
