31October is the death anniversary of Sir Sean Connery (1930-2020).

The legendary Scottish actor first brought the immortal character James Bond onto the screen.
Connery grew up in extremely hard circumstances. He had to leave school at the age of 14, and worked on a number of jobs from truck driver to milkman. The worst, according to him, was painting coffins.
Joining a Mr Universe contest held in London in 1950 changed his life. He got a role as a boxer in a BBC television series.
He caught the attention of Hollywood producer Albert Broccoli, who was looking for a sexy and charismatic actor to play the British secret agent James Bond, 007 with the license to kill, portrayed in the Ian Fleming novels.
Dr No opened in 1962 and was a huge success, catapulting Connery to stardom.
Sean Connery is considered the best Bond ever, and was voted ‘ The Sexiest Man Alive ‘ in 1989 at the age of 59.
Sean Connery showcased his acting skills in the Hitchcock film Mernie, Murder on the Orient Express (1973), The Man who would be King (1975), The Name of the Rose etc.
He received the Oscar award for his role in the film, The Untouchables. Connery was knighted by the Queen in 2000.
The famous line, ” The name is Bond…. James Bond ” will bring back his memories for years to come.
