Vimla Patil
Legendary Editor and Author Vimla Patil (1933-2024)
passes away.
Vimla Patil was founding Assistant Editor of India’s premier women’s weekly Femina , from 1959 and Editor from 1966 to 1993.
Born in Calcutta, Vimla studied journalism in London and returned to India to join the Times of India group in 1959.
She was also responsible for the establishment of the Miss India contest in 1966, responsible for the creation of scores of successful models and film actresses.
Vimla is also the author of several best selling books.
