The Men Who Killed Gandhi,
Manohar Malgaokar.

“The Men Who Killed Gandhi” remains to this day, the most authoritative book on the assassination of the Father of the Nation.

It makes chilling reading. Later revelations have proved wrong, the assertion of Godse during the trial that he had left the RSS earlier. Co-conspirator and brother Gopal Godse, in his book published many years later, has asserted that all the Godse brothers had been members of RSS throughout.
Eminent lawyer and columnist AG Noorani have narrated in detail in his book, the divisive role of the RSS.

Home Minister Sardar Patel had revoked the ban on RSS on the specific undertaking that it will not enter politics. RSS formed an umbrella of organisations including the political arm BJP, and was able to openly circumvent the ban.
The Kerala BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan is a typical example. A full time RSS worker, he has been seamlessly moved from Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi ( Temple Protection Council), to Hindu Aikyavedi, to BJP State President, Governor , Lok Sabha candidate etc .

The Sangh Parivar outfits continue with their nefarious activities including lynchings and arson without fear of retribution.
The RSS and BJP are able to conveniently disown the actions every time, by denying any connections with the incidents, through these subterfuges, as the RSS has no published list of its members. The sympathisers in the bureaucracy , police and even the judiciary, with the support of the political masters, ensure that the cases are buried deep.
The corporate owned media eiether ignore or put a twist to the numerous acts of violence.
Cases are instituted in far away places to intimidate any opposition to the powers that be. Very often the process itself becomes a punishment.
The list of victims is long, from Rahul Gandhi to Udayanidhi Stalin and even the Editor’s Guild.
Many intellectuals are languishing in jail under the draconian UAPA law.
Lately the ED and the PMLA act have become the weapon of choice to put opposition leaders in jail for months without bail.
