Shakespeare and Death.

Death and killings are a recurring feature in the works of William Shakespeare.
74 deaths in 37 plays makes us ponder about the vicicitudes of life.

Shakespeare leaves us with the feeling that many of his characters deserve death, like Iago or Claudius.
Romeo and Juliet, or Cordelia and Lear, bring out the eternal romance of love.

Stabbing was definitely the Bard’s favourite devise, as it was the common practice for killing in the medevial times.

“I don’t much fancy being stabbed to death. Very painful, and slow enough for at least one impassioned soliloquy. I like to think the audience would greet my passing with tears, so maybe a fast and painless poison would suit the playwright – it would certainly suit me”.

“Just give me long enough for a few words of wisdom to the progeny and lovers. I would never die of shame, or grief for that matter. Certainly not from lack of sleep – I nap every afternoon, thank you.
Being chased by a bear seems so undignified and throwing myself away is just stupid”.

“But please, Will, not starved while buried to my neck. I don’t do well without my morning coffee”.
