Bus in Bombay 100 years ago.
On 15th July 1926, the first Motor Bus service in Bombay was launched by BEST Company.
The route was between Afghan Church and Crawford market.
The cruising speed of the first motor bus in Bombay was 32 km an hour, and the permitted capacity, 24 passengers seating and 2 standing.
Buses that ran during the period 1928 to 1930 had postboxes for passengers to deposit their letters.
