St Peter and St Paul.
29 June is celebrated as the Feast of St Peter and St Paul.
Apostles Peter and Paul are considered pillars of the Christian Church. Though they were executed at different times, they are always remembered together.
“On the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, we don’t read a story of a triumphant Peter or Paul.
Instead, we encounter Jesus offering Peter forgiveness after Peter denied knowing him three times during the Passion (John 21). Christian leadership isn’t about triumphalism but humility. It’s about a deep awareness of our sins and our reliance on God’s mercy”.
– Fr James Martin SJ.
