Oprah Winfrey
( born 29 January ,1954) is one of the most famous persons in the world.
Being born black and poor in the USA, she would have in the normal course ended up as a deprived person. A scholarship gave her the opportunity to attend University and the rest is history.
With courage and fortitude she went on to become a TV personality, actor and one of the most watched talk show hosts She became one of the wealthiest persons in the media world.
However she spends all her fortune to help the needy and deprived children across the world.
In 2007, she opened a $40 million school for the disadvantaged in South Africa.

When the most famous broadcaster in America Oprah Winfrey announced her retirement, her admirers held a festival honouring her in a football stadium.
The surprise was to discover that she had sponsored 65,000 poor people for a quarter of a century without anyone knowing.

Many of them attended the stadium and 450 people came out with candles… !
Five of them were professors at Harvard University and one gave a short sermon summarising it:
“If it were not for Oprah, we would now be in a different place than this…”!!!

One person changes the lives of 65,000 people?

One of the most outspoken crusader against child abuse, she was awarded the highest civilian award in the USA, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Oprah is also the recipient of the Cecile B Demill Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Humanity is not a religion, but rather a rank that some people reach.
