St Joseph

St. Joseph.

19 March is celebrated as the Feast Day of St Joseph.
The Catholic, Orthodox – both Eastern and Oriental, Anglican and Lutheran Churches recognise St Joseph as their patron.
We know about Joseph from the Gospels in the Bible. St Joseph is the husband of Mary, mother of Jesus.
Since no mention of him is made in the Bible after Jesus reached age 12, it is presumed Joseph had died in Nazareth by the time.
He was a carpenter and belonged to Bethlehem.
However Jesus was born in Bethlehem, since Joseph had gone there to register his family, as ordered by the Roman emperor, Augustus Ceaser.
St Joseph is the patron of Unborn children, Immigrants, Workers, Employment, Explorers, Pilgrims, Carpenters, Engineers, and Peaceful death.
